What’s in your products?

Skin Deep is an electronic product database that contains ingredients in 64,062 products managed by the Environmental Working Group (EWG).

EWG source detailed information on these products from online retailers, manufacturers, product packaging, and, to a lesser extent, through other methods described below. In most cases, the information obtained includes a brand name, product name, directions for use, warnings, ingredients and package text.

In order for Skin Deep users to easily find the most current products on the market, EWG mark any products that have been in the database for longer than 3 years as “old formulation.” Products that have not been verified in the last 6 years will be removed from the database. This ensures that the most up-to-date products show up first on when consumers search the database. If you are concerned about the ingredients in the products you buy for you and your family, it is worth searching their database for information. It just might have you convinced to switch to more naturally-based products.
