What we specialise in

Our clinic offers the following treatments

Professional treatments and wellness therapies to suit everyone’s needs!

Aromatherapy, or essential oils therapy, is using a plant’s aroma-producing oils (essential oils) to treat disease. Essential oils are taken from a plant’s flowers, leaves, stalks, bark, rind, or roots. The oils are mixed with another substance (such as oil, alcohol or lotion) and then applied to the skin, sprayed in the air or inhaled. Aromatherapy originated in Europe in the early 1900s.

Our high-quality aromatherapy range is available as single oils or essential oil blends that are able to be made up into creams, room sprays and massage oils. We can advise on personalised blends as well as stocking pre-made formulations to treat a wide range of conditions. We also have a sensual range.

Australian Bush Flower Essence therapy

The Australian Bush Flower Essences have been researched and developed by Naturopath Ian White, a fifth generation Australian Herbalist. The Bush Remedies not only help to give clarity to one’s life but also the courage, strength and commitment to follow and pursue one’s goals and dreams. They help to develop a higher level of intuition, self esteem, spirituality, creativity and fun.

As Australian Bush Essences can initiate very deep emotional healing, private consultations are available.

These essences are also available over the counter so simply ask our staff how they can assist you in choosing remedies. We can also offer a quiet corner to sit and read through the summary chart to choose your own.

An example of the positive/negative aspects of the Australian Bush Essence is Crowea.

Bach Flower therapy

Bach Flower therapy is named after Dr Edward Bach, whose research led to its development in England in the 1930s. Its purpose is to restore emotional harmony.

Bach flower remedies are available over the counter. Our staff can assist you in choosing remedies, or we can offer a quiet corner to sit and read through the summary chart to choose your own. Bach flower remedies are useful for most emotional states.

Bowen Technique Therapy

A gentle form of body work in which a series of subtle guided hand movements are performed over the body, focusing on muscles and connective tissue.

Bowen therapy can benefit people of all ages, mostly requiring only a few sessions. Our patients are treated lying down with only a removal of shoes being required. Sessions are usually one hour in length.

People often experience a deep sense of relaxation and profound relief from this gentle therapy.

Clinical Nutrition

Good nutrition can have a profound effect on your health and vitality. Nutritionists have an excellent scientific understanding of nutrition and provide evidence based information about the impacts of food and nutrition on your healthy and well-being. Consulting a Nutritionist can help make sense of the conflicting information on food, whilst identifying the diet that’s right for you.

A Nutritionist uses a wide range of tools to evaluate your health then subsequently advises on lifestyle, dietary and nutritional practices to maintain good health, reduce the risk of disease and support chronic conditions.

Clinical Nutrition provides advice and dietary solutions for:

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT (also known as tapping) is an energy psychology technique that has been used for over three decades.

Often described at acupuncture without needles, the practitioner works with the client and shows them how to use their fingertips to tap on the end points of energy meridians that are situated just beneath the surface of the skin…literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.

The treatment is non-invasive and works on the ethos of making change as simple and as pain free as possible. People can go from feeling very emotional and thinking their life is ill-fated to laughing and realising how silly it all is.

Prior to and during sessions (and there is no designated number of sessions or time to be spent with your practitioner) you will bring a list of things to work on and your heart and your practitioner will work with you to explore as much as is possible in the time you spend together. You will then be able to practice it on your own, in-between sessions, as well as once your time together has come to an end.

Practicing EFT on a daily basis balances out the relentless chatter and installs empowering passionate feelings so you can create the changes you need to make your life work better for you.

If you are experiencing fertility problems, you are not alone. One in six New Zealand couples have problems conceiving.

Accepting that you or your partner may need some help along the way can be challenging. Our process begins by supporting you as we work to improve your chances of a healthy conception and pregnancy.

The Naturopathic approach involves investigating possible causes, learning about your fertile times, as well as exploring lifestyle and health factors that may impact upon your ability to conceive. We work with therapies that are natural and holistic where possible. Treatment may include herbal medicines, as well as nutritional, dietary or lifestyle changes.

We can also work alongside IVF/ART (Assisted Reproductive Treatments) for optimal outcomes. Give us a call to find out how we can help you.

Herbal medicine

Herbal medicine is used to treat a range of health problems and to enhance wellbeing. Herbal medicine — also called botanical medicine or phytomedicine — refers to using a plant’s seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark, or flowers for their medicinal value. Herbalism has a long tradition of use outside of conventional medicine. It is becoming more mainstream as science explores these herbs and validates their use in the treatment and prevention of disease.

Herbal medicine aims to return the body to a state of natural balance, so that it can heal and regulate itself.

Different herbs act on different systems of the body, with many having actions on multiple systems. It takes the skill of a highly experienced practitioner to carefully blend the right combination of herbs for you. Herbs can act on the body as powerfully as pharmaceutical drugs and need to be treated with care and knowledge of all potential interactions. Our clinic has a number of highly qualified herbalists and our store staff are all trained in herbal medicine to provide you with the best information.

Genetic testing

By doing a simple once-only saliva test, you can discover your DNA blueprint and learn how well your genes are matched to your present diet and lifestyle.

By assessing your genetic profile your specialist practitioner can teach you how to optimise your diet and modify your lifestyle to ‘turn off’ or down-regulate genes that have the potential to cause harm and ‘turn on’ or up-regulate the genes that help to prevent disease. This state-of-the-art genetic testing truly is predictive and preventative medicine at its best.

Matching our DNA with our diet and lifestyle, known as nutrigenomics, is the key to the exciting new realm of personalised wellness medicine.

Genetic testing is especially relevant for those who have the following conditions:

cardiovascular conditions/heart disease

  (includes family history)

raised cholesterol levels

diabetes or pre-diabetes

metabolic syndrome

values life and longevity

Life coaching therapy

Life coaching is an alliance between the coach and client where the coaching relationship continually gives all the power back to you. Our professionally trained life coach acts as a motivator and educator to support you in making lasting lifestyle changes that improve your physical and mental wellbeing. Life coaching addresses the whole person and explores what causes someone to feel depressed or unease with life or physically unwell.

A life coach helps you look at your life objectively. They offer advice and support while helping you find the answers or solutions to improving your problems – no matter how big or small. These can be personal, interpersonal, work or health related.

Coaching can also build your personal confidence to help you become more self-reliant, better spiritually aware, and enable you to have a good balance between your professional and personal life. A life coach assists you to manage challenges in life by using your own natural abilities, creativity, morals and ideas.

Life coaching involves setting goals and helping you to stay motivated and committed to reaching them. There is no set timeframe to work with a life coach – it is guided by you until you are confident and feel ready. Everyone is different. Some people visit our life coach weekly, whereas others come monthly. It all depends on how quickly you respond to the process, and discovering your desires and needs.

Beneficial in treating:

life skills and goal setting

low self esteem

poor motivation

It is believed most diseases are caused by what we do and don’t eat. Add a poor diet to a stressful, busy life and you’re likely to create an unnatural balance leading to chronic health problems.

Naturopathy seeks to find the root cause and focuses on the entire body. It uses natural therapies to correct imbalances rather than eliminate or restrain the symptoms.

Naturopathy is considered as one of the best alternative therapies for patients experiencing side effects or complications with conventional medicine.

We have a number of highly trained, experienced naturopaths working at our store and clinic. An initial clinic appointment will require one hour. During this time we take an investigative approach to look for the source of the health issue concerned. This may involve testing or referring for further tests.
