Relaxing Massage Balm

Recipe

 

15-20 gm coconut butter or beeswax
80-85 ml vegetable oil (apricot kernel, sweet almond or jojoba oils are the best to use as they are relatively heat stable) *
10 drops lavender essential oil
10 drops neroli essential oil
10 drop frankincense essential oil

Method

Melt the beeswax or coconut butter with the vegetable oil in a double boiler – place the beeswax and vegetable oil in a bowl and put the bowl inside a pot with water, ensuring that the water does not get into your mixture and slowly bring to the boil.
Once the mixture starts to cool add the essential oils and stir in thoroughly.
Pour into glass jars, cap and and label

* an alternative to using the beeswax/vegetable oil mixture is to use 100 gm of shea butter which is prepared in the same way as above.

Some other blends you may wish to try:

Relax and unwind: cedarwood, lavender, sandalwood
Romance Me: jasmine, neroli, rose
Chill out and let go: frankincense, neroli, roman chamomile
Tension Buster: lavender, roman chamomile, sandalwood
PMT-Ease: geranium, lavender, clary sage.
